Unite With Us Days is a special opportunity to bring the United Way of Greater St. Louis mission to life by volunteering side by side at United Way-supported agencies across Missouri and Illinois.
One of our volunteer locations and supported agencies is Employment Connection. Offering more than just a job, Employment Connection provides valuable resources, training, and support to inspire and empower clients to change their circumstances and become employed.
Volunteer Opportunity – Client Market and Closet Organization
Volunteers will assist with unpacking and organizing the client market, organizing clothing in the client closet, and supporting light administrative tasks as needed. Employment Connect has experienced a significant increase in reliance on these services in 2025 due to natural disasters and the government shutdown. Keeping these spaces clean, organized, and welcoming is essential to ensuring clients feel dignity and pride when accessing resources. Volunteer support helps maintain an environment that reflects care, respect, and stability for individuals and families during challenging times.

This project is proudly championed by Tara Ferguson, “In St. Louis For St. Louis” Initiative WashU, Assistant Director Community Engagement | UWGSL Board, who will be volunteering alongside participants and sharing why they support the United Way of Greater St. Louis.
