Arts & Learning Pack Assembly

Springboard to Learning is providing an opportunity for volunteers to assist in the assembly and packing of Arts & Learning Packs, which are small kits of hand-on art activities for students to create at home without needing access to technology.

Arts & Learning Packs are distributed to under-resourced students and are intended to spark invention and innovation, increasing critical thinking, creativity, collaboration and communication skills. Each of the seven unique Packs include: activity materials, printed step-by-step instructions for completing the project without internet access, fine arts, and other academic applicable standards. Additional supports, if internet access is available, include online video links to artist-led virtual workshops.

Current Arts and Learning Packs consist of Art Machines where students create a kinetic sculpture; Imagination Collaboration where students transform rudimentary objects into dramatic props; Pinch and Play where students explore clay strategies through play; Peek Through Your Window where students use imagination to create photos that tell stories about their world; Three Little What-zits and the Big Bad Who-zit where students fracture a favorite fairy tale, create props, and perform their new story; and RainSaver where students explore water reclamation and rainscaping. Assembly takes place in a socially distant, safe space with PPE equipment provided.
