Organization Profile
For over 40 years, SMCS has been a leader in Christian education in the Birmingham area. SMCS is accredited by AdvancED, formerly the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), and is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). Shades Mountain Christian School is an independent, community, Christian school serving grades K3-12. SMCS currently serves 240 students and is not only diverse in race, but also in socioeconomic status. Challenging academics with college prep curriculum, innovative technology and extra-curricular activities prepare our students for the next level. It is our desire to partner with families to raise up a generation of inspired, transformed, and mission-minded young people.
