Fresh Starts Community Garden
Location: 2901 Dayton St, St. Louis, MO 63106
Fresh Starts is an award-winning community garden in the JeffVanderLou neighborhood founded and run by the dynamic Rosie Willis. We maintain 20 garden beds at Fresh Starts, sourcing hyper-local, fresh produce to our nonprofit community partners. The tasks that volunteers will help with at this space will vary depending on the season but volunteers can expect to help by weeding, mulching, planting, harvesting, and occasionally small building projects. The farmer at this site can vary tasks based on phyical abilities and personal preference, although please note this site is on a level street lot with grass and raised beds. There is a porta-potty available onsite or a gas station a short drive away.
After volunteers sign up here, you can expect to be emailed by our volunteer coordinator who will set up a google calendar event where the farmer will reach out a few days before your volunteer day and let you know what tasks are planned. We look forward to working with you!
