Support at the Disaster Assistance Center (DAC)
In response to the May 16 tornado, a Disaster Assistance Center (DAC) has been set up to provide essential support and resources to individuals and families impacted by the storm. DACs serve as a one-stop shop for disaster relief, connecting people to local services, recovery resources, and other critical support.
We are seeking volunteers for two key roles:
- Greeter / Exit Station
Volunteers will welcome guests, help maintain a calm environment, and direct individuals to the appropriate service areas. A helpful, welcoming attitude is essential.
- Navigators
Volunteers will be paired with individuals or families to guide them through the center, ensuring they access all the services they need. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable supporting others through difficult situations and has some familiarity with the social service sector.
Note: Both roles require volunteers to be on their feet for the duration of their shift. A brief training will be provided before each shift.
Age Minimum (with Adult): 18+, Minimum Age:18+
