Tornado Debris Cleanup & Trail Maintenance in O'Fallon Park

St. Louis was hit by a monumental tornado on May 16th that destroyed large parts of the city and county. O'Fallon Park was hit especially hard. Let's get out there to help clean it up!

Open Space STL is partnering with The City of St. Louis Forestry Division, The Sierra Club Eastern Missouri Group, River City Outdoors, and The Ozark Trail Association to clear out trees and other debris from the woodland area, just west of the O'Fallon Park YMCA Rec Complex. Volunteers may help clear trees, remove large branches, and haul debris away from the woodland area and hiking trails.

This is a great opportunity to do some trail maintenance work. If you have not done this work before, this is a wonderful way to learn!

Where: O'Fallon Park YMCA, 4343 W Florissant Ave, St. Louis, MO 63115. Coordinates: 38.68332, -90.22304. From I-70 West, exit east on Adelaide; go north on Florissant and exit at the YMCA. We will meet in the parking lot.

When: We will meet at 9am. The volunteer day runs from 9-3pm, but feel free to come for the time that works for you. Volunteers can work as many hours as they'd like.
