Antiques Roadshow Volunteer

Antiques Roadshow Volunteers Needed!

  • Time Requirements

    • Monday 12 May

      • Required meeting from 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM at Grant's Farm

      • Your role will be decided at this meeting.

      • This is a mandatory meeting.

    • Tuesday 13 May

      • 12+ hour shift, 6:00 AM till ~ 7:30 PM at Grant's Farm

      • Depending on your exact role, you may be released earlier or later.

  • Duties and Responsibilities – you will be assigned one of the following at the Monday 5/12 meeting

    • Front-of-house

      • Greet and direct attendees, local station and sponsorship attendees, and press to their check-in areas, scan attendee tickets, attach wrist bands, hand out event program guides, direct people to the triage line, and answer questions.

    • Triage

      • Escort attendees from the generalist appraisers to the correct appraisal line for a specialist.

      • This role will have the most walking.

    • Production Set

      • Manage the appraisal lines and assist the crew on the set as needed. This may include securing the recording areas, directing crowd flow, and acting as "runners" for the ROADSHOW producers.

      • You may be wearing a headset in this role.

  • Location & Environment

    • Grant's Farm

    • Parking might be off site lot with shuttle service to and from the lot. This is being discussed.

    • You will be outdoors, mainly standing and walking. It would be a good idea to bring sunscreen, a hat, and a refillable water bottle. Wear very comfortable shoes.

    • It will be a crowded environment. There will be 4,730 attendees with tickets, plus special guests and media.

  • Skills & Qualifications

    • Must be 18 or older

    • Must bring government-issued photo ID on Monday 12 May

    • Must comply with ROADSHOW Health & Safety Policy at the time of the event including any vaccination requirements

    • You will not be moving any antiques; in fact, you are not to assist any guests with their antiques.

  • Supervision & Support

    • You will be assigned a team leader who will be your main contact during the event.

  • Volunteer "Perks"

    • Two verbal appraisals at the end of the day, no ticket needed!

      • Secure storage is not always available, so you may want to keep your items in your car, covered.

    • Breakfast, boxed lunch, snacks, Antiques Roadshow shirts, baseball caps, and ID badge
