Guardian Angel Open Volunteer Day
Guardian Angel is a schoolyard farm located on the grounds of Guardian Angel Settlement Association. Volunteers will not interact with students while working the farm. The farm has a greenhouse, hoop house, farm rows, and a food forrest. Farmer Zayla will lead volunteers through various farm tasks consistent with the season like watering, weeding, harvesting, etc. There is limited sun protection source in the form of a shade structure. There is access to an air-conditioned bathroom. The farm is on a level city lot with street parking. The ground is uneven dirt/grass. Given notice, the farmer can provide work activities to accommodate special mobility considerations. Bring water, wear sunscreen, and dress to get dirty! Once you sign up for this volunteer opportunitiy, you will be added to a google calendar invite where the farmer can coordinate day-of considerations and weather cancellations.
