Answer Crisis Helpline Calls
Crisis Helpline volunteers work hand-in-hand with staff members to make sure that no call to our 24-Hour Crisis Helpline goes unanswered. As a Crisis Helpline volunteer, you provide compassionate attention while connecting callers to the most appropriate referrals and resources. Requirements include a screening interview with Safe Connections staff and a 48-hour, multi-session training program. Specifically, this approach builds knowledge, skills, and confidence to provide callers with the best possible support. Once the training program has been completed, volunteers must be able to volunteer a minimum of 6 hours a month for one year.
