Fresh Starts Community Garden
Fresh Starts is an award-winning community garden in the JeffVanderLou neighborhood founded and run by the dynamic Rosie Willis. We maintain 20 garden beds at Fresh Starts, sourcing hyper-local, fresh produce for our nonprofit community partners. Food grown is distributed to the community through Lifewise STL and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Food Pantry.
We host volunteer groups of up to 12 people at Fresh Starts Community Garden.
We will start the volunteer event by providing your group with a brief tour of the farm, then will lead you in farm tasks that need to be accomplished that day. It is difficult to predict exactly what your group will be doing in advance as there are so many variables at play - weather, the week's priorities, the season, etc. Please come prepared to get a little dirty, and have fun!
Things change from time to time. The weather may impact our ability to work outside, we may need to change locations, etc. To facilitate proper communication with individual volunteers, we require groups to provide us a roster of attendees with individual email addresses at least 7 days prior to the volunteer event.
