Brightpoint Board Membership

CURRENTLY SEEKING NEW BOARD MEMBERS FOR OUR SOUTHERN IL REGIONAL ADVISORY BOARD.

Who We Are:

Brightpoint (formerly Children's Home & Aid) has provided services to families across Southern Illinois for 140 years. Our agency is known for its comprehensive approach that partners with children, youth, and families whose potential is at risk. Our focus is on child abuse prevention, healthy child development, and strengthening families. To accomplish these goals we have 3 core areas of services: Child Welfare, Youth Services, and Early Childhood Services.

Our board is comprised of voluntary members from diverse talents, perspectives, and backgrounds. Our members are gifted in areas such as social services, business, finance, event planning, and more. A primary responsibility of board members is to advise programs and inform elected policymakers and officials about the issues facing the children and families we serve. Moreover, our board is responsible for spearheading our connection to the community and acting as a visible base of passionate and talented individuals who show up and represent us at agency organized social and fundraising events.

We seek board members who can bring resources into the agency, and who will support us in creating a strong base of donors through networking and leveraging others to support Brightpoint. Each board member is expected to invest in our mission in 3 key ways:

1) Time: We ask that you regularly attend meetings, volunteer for key projects, and help support our fundraising efforts and events.

2) Talent: We value the personal and professional insight/expertise you offer to assist in the delivery of our mission.

3) Treasure: We ask that you make a contribution annually, as well as help promote ticket sales to special/fundraising events. We have no specific donation requirement other than one that is meaningful to you personally.

If this opportunity feels like a good fit for you, reach out to express your interest, tell us a little about yourself, and provide us with 3 professional references. If you have a resume, please attach that as well.

Please remember that acquiring new members to serve on our board is a selective process; we have limited slots to fill. Should we contact you after receiving your information, we will then schedule a time to chat and learn more about one another. If we all agree to proceed, your desired membership will then be put to a board vote.

We do hope you will reach out if you feel you have the time, talent, and treasure to contribute to our mission. We seek to create a board rich with diverse insight and experience--yours may be just the experience we are looking for!

Note: This board meets roughly every other month on a Thursday from 12-1:00 pm. Meetings are either online or at our offices in St. Clair and Madison County, IL. During in-office meetings, there is still an option to join virtually.
