Development Historical and Archivist Volunteer

This volunteer opportunity will focus on a strategic plan and help coordinate the Center for Hearing & Speech's 100 years of artifacts, information, and how much of an impact makes of supporting the community for 100 years. 

  • Volunteers help our staff find, process, catalog, mine, sort our periodicals, newsletters, and other ephemera, and development files and photos to identify historical information about the center and catalog it in a logical manner so we can identify it for the future.

  • Go through physical files, separate, and identify dates, important events, and notable information. it will be digitized through scanning into our files.

  • This project also involves assisting in going through our old physical and digital photos and collections archives and identifying contents, this might include research online or talk to various staff, it involves typing on a computer, lifting, and working with older materials.

What we are looking for:

  • Someone who is organized and can create indexes and tables.

  • Related experience or interest in working or researching or related fields would be ideal.

Time Commitment:

Work is anytime between Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m., and flexible.

This will probably take a few months if worked on weekly and we would like to have someone who could stay for the entire duration. There may be opportunities to do other development work if interested, as well.
