Volunteer Supervisor: Director of Information Technology
Summary: The Office Assistant will perform a variety of tasks depending on project deadlines at The Salvation Army Midland Divisional Headquarters. This will include answering phones and other administrative tasks as assigned by the Director of Information Technology. This position helps to extend the resources at The Salvation Army to better assist and direct the needs of our clients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensure phone calls from individuals seeking services are returned within 48 hours or referred to appropriate individuals or resources.

Respond to officers and staff with excellent customer service

Some Data Entry

Other duties specifically around coordination of special events, or as assigned
Requirements:

Background Clearance Required
-
Be self-directed, willing to take initiative, and detail-oriented

Respect and maintain confidentiality of The Salvation Army officers, staff, volunteers, partners, and donors

Must be able familiar with word programs (Excel, Word, etc..)
Training
-
Attends Safe from Harm Training (provided by The Salvation Army)
Time Commitment
Monday- Friday, 4 hours each day. (start time is flexible)
COVID-19 Policies

Temperature checks and a COVID-19 Health questionnaire will be completed on arrival every day.

Face masks required for entry and will be worn the entire time inside the office.

Ample hand sanitizer is available in all environments with stands or tables inside and mini sanitizers of sanitizer stations outside.

Information is posted inside all facilities displaying how to properly wear the face mask. Flyers will be used for volunteers outside.

Additional facemasks (or face shields depending on the volunteer role) are available at all locations (indoors and outside)

Disposable gloves are available at all locations (indoors and outside). Some positions will require gloves to be worn.
