Serve on the Student Grant Committee

United Way of Greater St. Louis believes in the power of young people to do great things and impact our community. In order to support the philanthropic, civic, and service-based efforts of college and university students in the greater St. Louis region.  United Way offers one-time grants, up to $1,000 each, to provide financial support for student-led service initiatives. Local students then come together to form the Student Grant Committee, read the grant applications and as a committee, decide which grants to fund and how much funding to give them.

We need college students to serve on the 2020 Student Grant Committee. This is about a 5-6 hour time commitment over 2 meetings and reading the applications on your time. These hours can serve as official service hours for anyone who needs them. To be a part of the grant deliberations committee, you must be able to attend a one-hour virtual training and the deliberation meeting.

The Grant Committee virtual meeting dates are:

  • Grant Committee Training (Only need to attend one session) - October 28, 11-12 p.m. or 4-5 p.m.
  • Grant Deliberation Meeting - November 9, 3:30-4:30 p.m.
