More Information on Team Leaders!
Team leaders are unique program-specific volunteers that work hands-on with high school students from various schools around Missouri and Illinois to discuss bullying-related issues during the Megan Meier Foundation's Leadership Workshop. These fun and inspirational days are made possible with volunteers dedicated to bullying prevention and making a difference in the lives of teens.
Since 2011, our Leadership Workshops have exposed middle and high-school students to the impact, significance, and consequences of bullying/cyberbullying and taught students to become leaders and advocates against bullying. Small group activities with trained, experienced Team Leaders allow students to explore topics of bullying, cyberbullying, digital footprints, empathy, peer-pressure, stereotypes, mental illness, and suicide prevention and develop practical skills to help remedy these issues through leadership and peer-advocacy. Workshops conclude with small group strategic planning sessions where students brainstorm impactful, creative ideas through the use of “Megan’s Voice Action Plan.” This plan serves as an outline for a project or campaign they plan to conduct to raise awareness about bullying and cyberbullying and promote positive change within their school environment.
TEAM LEADER RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Lead small breakout sessions with high school students
Lead the small group in discussions and activities on topics including, but not limited to, bullying, cyberbullying, online responsibility, empathy, stereotypes, and suicide
Attend the development session with the Megan Meier Foundation
Age Minimum (with Adult): 18+, Minimum Age:18+
