Opportunity Details

2019 Whitaker Urban Concert Series

Please come out and join us as we celebrate our 13th Annual Whitaker Concert Series at St. Louis Place Park. Whitaker is an opportunity to bring community together with local bands performing, childrens' activities, food trucks, community resources, and a whole lot more! Every Thursday beginning in June, ending in July. There will be no concert July 4th.

Volunteers will assist with the following:

Information Table: The information table provides upcoming concert information, information about Grace Hill and upcoming events, etc. Participants are able to come over to the information table and sign up for the raffle and also fill out the Neighborhood survey. If anyone has any additional questions regarding the Concert Series, the information table will provide the information or find the appropriate staff person to help them. The information table also collects all raffle sign-ups as well as the completed neighborhood surveys.

Children’s’ Activities:  Each night there will be two children’s activities going on. If you are working in either area, you are expected to help manage the line to ensure children are not fighting or creating any discord while waiting. You are expected to engage with the children, talking to them or their parents about Grace Hill, the programs we offer, etc. You can assist them with any creative projects they are working on. You may also share 1-2 pieces of candy with each child once they have finished their project or are leaving the line.

Crowd Surveys/Raffle Sign Up: The goal each night is to collect a total of 100 crowd surveys. During the first hour of collecting crowd surveys, you may also encourage people to sign up for the raffle and be sure to share all raffle sign ups with the information table who collects them. Raffle winners are announced during intermission. Please share all completed neighborhood surveys with the information table. You may also pass out the Whitaker post cards and encourage participants to come out each week.

Park Surveyors: You will walk throughout the park, ensuring no emergencies are taking place. If there is something occurring, you should notify the police who are present, the EMT staff if it is a medical emergency, or staff is there is a need or concern.

Volunteers will check in at the information table and ask for myself or Shelton Clark.
