St. Louis BWorks is currently recruiting volunteer class assistants to help in teaching our Learn-to-Ride class. If you like working with kids and/or love to share the joy of biking - this is a great opportunity for you!
Bicycle Works’ Learn-to-Ride, offers a free program in which children attend a series of hands-on courses to learn problem-solving, bicycle safety and maintenance, and responsibility. As the name suggests, they also learn to ride a bike. At the end of this 7 week, session students will have earned a refurbished bicycle of their choice (which was donated to our organization) and a lot of self-confidence.
Volunteer instructors lead children through lessons in riding a bike, fixing flat tires, nutrition, safety, and more. No experience is necessary, as volunteers are trained on-site with the support of our veteran instructors.
Volunteers are expected to attend most, if not all of the 7 sessions.
