Community Canvassing
The St. Louis Area Violence Prevention Commission (STLVPC) Community Engagement Committee is planning a series of events in Jennings, MO. We will begin with a Community Outreach Event on Saturday, July 20 from 10am-12: 30 pm. This is a great opportunity for each of us to do something meaningful and concrete in our communities, our goal is to : (1) hear directly from families about the specific resources and basic supports they need; and (2) connect families to resources immediately or through ongoing follow-up and (3) introduce upcoming community workshops and events.
We will canvass several blocks in the 3rd and 4th Wards of Jennings. Please note that this is a starting point and we conduct and support outreach efforts in different locations throughout the summer.
Volunteers will place door hangers with details about how to access common social services for any unanswered doors. Volunteers will provide customized United Way 211 cards for community members to help them access services. Volunteers will work with 2-1-1 to help connect community members with resources for immediate needs
