April Recycling Extravaganza!
The Recycling Extravaganza is the preeminent recycling collection event in the St. Louis region. Here is your one-stop shop to responsibly recycle electronics, car seats, toothbrushes, wine corks, clothing and much more. Brightside St. Louis has partnered with St. Louis Earth Day to continue to make this event a smooth success and volunteers are needed!
Tasks include greeters, collection assistants, survey collectors, recycling monitors, and directional assistants. The volunteer shift will include some teardown. The volunteer shifts are from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm and 12:00 pm to 3:30 pm.
This is a rain or shine event that takes place on the unshaded parking lots at St. Louis Community College Forest Park, which is located at 5600 Oakland Ave. The event starts at 10:00 am and ends at 2:00 pm. Upon your arrival, be sure to check-in at the St. Louis Earth Day tent, which will be marked and located in the front of the parking lot.
IMPORTANT! Please bring your own water bottle, sunscreen, rain protection, appropriate clothing and CLOSED-TOE footwear for being outside and on hot (or wet) pavement. We will have a water cooler and first aid kit at the SLED tent onsite. Volunteers will be supplied with a safety vest to be worn while on duty.
