January Recycling Extravaganza
EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER.
The Recycling Extravaganza is the preeminent recycling collection event in the St. Louis region. We are looking to host several events throughout the year that are smaller for people to bring items to drop-off items that is one site for public convenience and appropriate disposal. Here is your one-stop shop to responsibly recycle electronics, paper shredding, bikes, clothing and much more. Brightside St. Louis has partnered with St. Louis Earth Day to continue to make this event a smooth success and volunteers are needed!
Tasks include greeters, collection assistants, survey collectors, recycling monitors, and directional assistants. There are two volunteer shifts times available: 10-12:30 and 12:00-2:30. The volunteer shift will include some set-up and tear down.
This is a rain or shine event that takes place on the unshaded parking lots at Missouri Botanical Twin Parking Lots which is located at the corner of Vandeventer and Shaw Blvd. The event starts at 11:00 am and ends at 2:00 pm. Upon your arrival, be sure to check-in at the St. Louis Earth Day tent, which will be marked and located in the front of the parking lot.
IMPORTANT! Please bring your own water bottle, sunscreen, rain protection, appropriate clothing and CLOSED-TOE footwear for being outside and on hot (or wet) pavement. We will have a water cooler and first aid kit at the SLED tent onsite. Volunteers will be supplied with a safety vest to be worn while on duty.
