Demonstration Garden Volunteer Orientation

Saturdays 9:00am-12:00pm, March through September
The Gateway Greening Demonstration Garden and Carriage House is an important piece of support that Gateway Greening offers the 200+ community, youth and school garden projects in our network. These facilities total 0.75 acres and are where Gateway Greening holds classes, builds garden award materials, has tool loans, seed, and plant sales, and is where we demonstrate keeping urban chickens, composting and gardening techniques including vegetables,
naturescaping and ornamental plantings. Gateway Greening staff and volunteers maintain 29 demonstration beds that are used to illustrate various vegetable growing techniques. Volunteers gain experience in garden maintenance and work alongside St. Louis Master Gardeners and Gateway Greening staff.
Volunteers must first attend a Volunteer Orientation. The 2020 orientation schedule for the Demonstration Garden is below. All orientations are 10:00-11:00 am. All orientations are located at the Demonstration Garden at 3841 Bell Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63108.
