Cooking for Comfort
The mission of the St. Louis Arc is to empower people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families to lead better lives by providing a lifetime of high-quality services, family support, and advocacy.
In Cooking for Comfort, participants with intellectual and developmental disabilities will enjoy hands-on experience in the kitchen, while learning how to prepare easy, delicious meals. An experienced cooking instructor will assist participants in preparing tasty dishes. Volunteers will assist program leader in teaching adults with disabilities age 18 and older how to cook a variety of recipes.
New volunteers must complete paperwork, orientation, and attend an interview prior to starting. New volunteers are expected to commit to the whole session of this program.
Session I - Wednesday, September 4th to September 18th - 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm / 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm
Session II - Wednesday, September 25th to October 9th - 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm / 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm
