Violence Prevention Commission Walnut Park Neighborhood Community Canvass
The St. Louis Area Violence Prevention Commission (STLVPC) Community Engagement Committee is planning a series of events in SLMPD Chief Hayden’s area of Focus. This is a great opportunity for each of us to do something meaningful and concrete in our communities, our goal is to : (1) Hear directly from families about the specific resources and basic supports they need; and (2) Connect families to resources immediately or through ongoing follow-up and community events.
Volunteers will place door hangers with details about how to access common social services for any unanswered doors. Volunteers will provide customized United Way 211 cards for community members to help them access services. Volunteers will work with 2-1-1 to help connect community members with resources for immediate needs.
