Agency Outreach Volunteer

Are you looking for a volunteer opportunity that allows you to set your own schedule? Are you a student or professional looking for agency outreach and public speaking experience? If you are, the Agency Outreach Volunteer may be a good fit for you!

Almost Home Agency Outreach Volunteers (AOV) are skilled volunteers trained to speak with local agencies, professionals, schools, and individuals about Almost Home’s mission and vision. AOVs will work closely with the Volunteer Coordinator, Director of Programs, and Programming Department to expand the agency’s outreach goals by following a coordinated outreach procedure designed to reach potential clients, volunteers, and donors. The outreach procedure will include tasks such as helping with collateral drop-offs and briefly speaking to local agencies about our agency during drop-off visits. AOVs must be enthusiastic about Almost Home’s mission to empower young mothers to become self-sufficient, comfortable speaking to drop-off sites about general agency facts, and interested in creative problem-solving.

Hours and Times: Monday-Friday, varying times; Weekends optional; flexible to personal schedule

Requirements:

  • Interview

  • Orientation

  • FCSR background check

  • Confidentiality agreement

  • Almost Home Public Speaking Training

Qualifications:

Must be/have

  • 18 years of age or older

  • A Confident public speaker

  • Passionate about the agency’s mission, vision, and goals

  • Familiar with Almost Home’s programming requirements and confidentiality policies

  • Excellent communication skills

  • A Reliable form of transportation

Tasks:

  • Meet with local agencies and schools to speak briefly about the agency

  • Drop off flyers and invitations for agency events, programs, and classes

  • Refer inquiries to the appropriate staff member

  • Support the agency’s overall mission and branding by being well-informed and prepared
