Opportunity Details
Washington Park Cemetery Community Volunteer
Washington Park Cemetery is a historical African American cemetery that opened in 1920. The cemetery is one of the largest and once most beautiful African American cemeteries in the state of Missouri. The cemetery has suffered many injustices throughout the decades, which eventually lead to abandonment and ruin.
Assistance is needed clearing the burial grounds; cutting grass, weeds, bushes, trimming tree limbs, flower removals etc. Volunteers are strongly encouraged to bring any and all equipment needed for clearing. The cemetery has very few available tools. We also accept any donations of new or used lawn mowers, trimmers, weed wackers etc.
